Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. The Human Resources and Administrative Manager is a dual role involving full spectrum human resources and office management responsibilities. As Human Resources and Administrative Manager you will touch and manage activities across several core business functions, including human resources, facilities, and administrative support. You will be working closely with a variety of leaders across the organization and report to the Controller, noting that the reporting structure may change based on the needs of the Company, with support and guidance from outside legal counsel.

This role is responsible for performing HR Generalist and HR Manager-related duties on a professional level in the following human resources functional areas: benefits administration,employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation,recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance. The Office Manager-related component of this position is responsible for overall front office activities, facilities and management of the building, along with any other duties as requested and required.

Human Resources Responsibilities:

  • Contribute at a hands-on level to cultivate a vibrant work culture.
  • Coordinate and support employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Manage, as necessary, talent acquisition and hiring to meet and exceed hiring goals, including maintaining job descriptions, scheduling interviews, creating, and delivering offer letters, compensation plans, and benefit packages with the oversight of the COO and outside legal counsel.
  • Manage the onboarding process, including setting up hardware/software, collaborating with direct supervisors, and conducting basic new hire training.
  • Advise and support managers in performance management and employee relations matters.
  • Maintain company compliance with applicable labor laws and Company policies with the support and oversight of the CEO and outside legal counsel.
  • Oversee relationship with outside human resources and payroll company (e.g., ADP).
  • Maintain company organization charts and the employee directory.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors and be the central point of contact for all external and internal stakeholders where applicable.
  • Direct visitors by maintaining employee and department directories.
  • Maintain office security, procedures, and organization.
  • Take ownership of ensuring a superior workplace that is organized and operating efficiently, e.g., order office supplies, food/drink, and furniture as needed and directed.
  • Own the relationship with office building management and various vendors to coordinate facilities upkeep.
  • Plan special events that bring employees together as directed, e.g., special training sessions and celebrations.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Prepare expense reports as directed.
  • Be available outside of core business hours.
  • Responsible for the facilities day-to-day operations (such as distributing building access keys and access cards).
  • Performs additional tasks as required.

Shipping Associate

Job Description

The Shipping Associate will perform a variety of routine shipping tasks at our location in Sylvan Lake, MI. They will pick and pack orders for internet customers as defined by the pick ticket and will ship in accordance with the specified shipping requirements. They will verify that the material is correct as defined by its label (i.e. part number, color, size, etc.). This position reports directly to the Shipping Director or in his/her absence, to the Assistant Shipping Manager(s). Shipping Associates need to have excellent organization skills, enabling them to quickly locate merchandise for distribution or placement within the warehouse.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and efficiently pull, stage, and load orders; padding, wrapping as necessary.
  • Ensure all products are shipped in good physical condition and are prepared so as to arrive in the same condition.
  • Work with Supervisor to organize the warehouse and maintain a safe and productive environment.
  • Report supply needs and/or equipment breakdowns to supervisor or lead.
  • Operate a pallet jack and possible forklift.
  • Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements.
  • Package and ship in accordance with packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices.
  • Monitor packaging material supplies and notify the Manager when materials get to the restocking point.
  • Support receiving/shipping to unload/receive material as required.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in areas assigned.
  • Support a proactive safety environment, with emphasis on good housekeeping techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective communication/comprehension skills - verbal and written.
  • Math Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Basic computer skills.
