The Viva Phoenix Max 10 Air Shell is a bit of a mouthful. Fortunately the Max 10 has almost as many features as the name has letters and is one of the most technical and comfortable boots available. By using Air Shell Technology, which consists of an adjustable air bladder that allows you to fine tune the internal fit from 102mm to 98mm, the Max 10 can fit feet from wide to skinny with a quick pump. On top of that the Delta Force flex adjustment switch lets the flex be set at 90 or 80 so it can be more than supportive enough for casual advanced skiers but soft and forgiving enough for athletic beginner skiers that do not want to worry about out performing their boot in a year or two. To help make the Max 10 responsive and powerful Tecnica uses 3 Density Shell Technology, by using soft material around the foot and then encasing it in much firmer material to get strong heel retention while maintaining comfort. The 3.5 Buckle system is also a great blending of performance and comfort, by using and oversized cuff buckle and powerstrap you can achieve strong heel hold while also reducing shin pressure for forgiveness and control. Inside the Max 10 is a Viva UltraFit Liner complete with Viva Velvet Fur Lining to maximize comfort and warmth which has a flared scalloped cuff for better calf fit and calf adapters for a more snug but not tight fit. If you don't mind the ridiculously long name of the Viva Phoenix Max 10 Air Shell if is a boot that can take you from beginner to advanced and everywhere in between.
