 Overview

The K2 AMP Rictor 90 XTi is a perfect ski for advanced to expert skiers that are looking for on trail and off trail versatility. The 90mm waist can float in all but the deepest of powder, remain edgy on the groomers, and pound through crud with the best of them. A layer of Titanal sits above the Aspen/Paulownia/Maple wood core that makes the Rictor 90 very stable at high speeds and strong enough to rip through variable snow conditions. K2's All Terrain Rocker has a rockered tip to aid in floatation, and initiate turns quicker. Camber underfoot will provide you with rebound and grip. The Tapered Powder Tip will not get hooked up in the deep stuff and float easier. K2's Hybritech Sidewalls use a vertical sidewall on the majority of the ski that has a fantastic edge grip, and a cap construction exists on the tips and tails for easier maneuvering. If you want value, and on trail/off trail versatility, the K2 AMP Rictor 90 XTi fits the bill.

Great ski
Comments:
Just skied first time on K2 Amp. Mountain conditions went from frozen hard pack at top to soft mash at bottom. Skis hold good edge. Seems to like more aggressive action. Very happy with my purchase

Love my Rictor 90XTI's!
Comments:
This ski will handle anything you can throw at it. I have skied them for two seasons at Mammoth and Tahoe and haven't found anything I don't like about them yet. Fast ski on packed snow giving you unbelievable power through your turns. In the pow, tips float nicely and the 90 at the foot is enough to keep you from sinking in too much. Flex is just right, allowing me to hold a strong edge on any black or double black. I will be keeping mine as long as they will hold out for me!

Ready out of the Box!
Comments:
I asked 3 different techs if the Rictor needed any tuning and all said it's ready to go as-is. Wow, they were correct - firm snow conditions at Mammoth and they were smooth and predictable. At 53yrs old, they made me feel like a 30yr old. Looking forward to some Sierra Cement to see how they handle the variable snow...

Asked : Jan 08, 2017
By : Eric, United States
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: The Rictor 90 XTi is a bit heavy for a true AT ski, but it can get you to where you want to go.

A: We can only install bindings if boots are purchased with the skis and bindings. The actual boot that is going into the bindings for proper installation, adjustment and release testing. Please understand that this is for your safety.

Q: I'm 5' 10", 170lbs, aggressive but mid-aged mostly Eastern skier. It's been 20 years since I bought new skis. What's an appropriate length?
Asked : Jan 02, 2017
By : Jonathan, Cambridge MA
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: Based on your weight and ability a 170-175cm ski will be the optimal length for you.

Q: I am an active, very fit, 65 years old man that love to ski. Don't do blacks anymore, prefer groomers, but ventures in powder, and considering buying a new pair of skis. I am 5 ft 11 in, and weights 200 lbs. Would the !K2 AMP Rictor 90 XTIs suite me ? What binding would you recommend ? Would the Tyrolia for 198 $ do the trick ?
Asked : Dec 24, 2016
By : Claude, Tampa
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: While this ski would fit you well based on the information you have provided, the 170cm length is short for a 200 lbs skier. If you are looking for something that is very easy to ski and are not worried about stability at speed, just simply cruising at slow to moderate speeds it would be okay. Otherwise you should be looking at skis in the 178-185cm range. The Tyrolia Attack 13 is a great binding option for these.

Q: Would you recommend the Look SPX12 Bindings for this ski in 90mm or 100mm ? Is there a benefit to one brake width over the other ?
Asked : Dec 12, 2016
By : Vincent, United States
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: The general guideline when selecting brake width is equal to or greater than the waist width of the ski, but not more than 15mm. Either a 90mm or 100mm would be a perfect fit. On that ski there is no advantage nor disadvantage to one or the other. The SPX 12 is a great match for that ski, the orange would look really good on there. Sorry for my typo in the previous answer.

Q: Would the Look SPX12 Bindings in 100mm be OK for use with these skis ?
Asked : Dec 12, 2016
By : Vincent, United States
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: Yes the SPX 12 will be a fine binding to pair with the Rictor 90. You can use either the 110 or the 90mm brake size.

Q: If the skis retail at $850 why are they so cheap?
Asked : Aug 27, 2016
By : Tom, Elmira
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: These skis are from the 2015 season so the prices have been given the slash! Get em' while they're hot!

Q: Do they need 90 mm bindings ? Anything else you would recommend for bindings other than the Look ?
Asked : Jul 31, 2016
By : Uwe, Boulder
Know the answer? Answer this question

A: With a 90mm waist width, the brakes must be at least 90mm. 90-100mm would be the optimal fit. The Look SPX 12, Salomon Warden 13, Marker Griffon, and Tyrolia Attack 13 all have a skill level that would be appropriate for this ski.
